Hello! My name is Scot Robnett, and I started Cooking Schools Review because I want to help other passionate cooks who aspire to become professional chefs find the right culinary schools to fit their goals and cooking styles. When I decided that I would like to transition my home cooking experience to a professional environment and earn money doing what I love—making people happy with food—I didn't know how to find the best cooking school for me. I didn't know the right questions to ask or where to start. By doing the most important thing, which was just starting, through trial and error, I found the best path for myself. Hopefully, I can help you do the same with more direction than I had.
As it turns out, I have done a little bit of a lot of things in my culinary career, including working at restaurants, doing personal chef work, teaching cooking classes, feeding happy guests at B&B's and minglers at singles parties, volunteering for community kitchens, and cooking for many events, even some nationally known events in the US. I've had the opportunity to meet and cook for a few celebrities. There have been major successes and metaphorical train wrecks, lows and exhilaration, thankless tasks and well-recognized ones, a lot of hard work, and pure joy in doing what I do. From barely containing grease fires to making French omelets for PGA pros, I wouldn't trade a single moment of it for anything.
My goal is to supply other aspiring chefs with the resources I didn't know I needed and save them time and frustration that I experienced. If I can do that, I'll be happy knowing that my challenges have been for a good cause.
My mission is to help aspiring chefs find the best path to the culinary careers they dream about. Whether that is becoming a personal chef, a sous chef, the executive chef at a Michelin-starred restaurant, running a food truck business, or any number of other exciting cooking careers, there are cooking schools that help bring those dreams to life. I want to help you find your culinary path.
This site is for anyone who wants to cook for a living, no matter how humble or high-end that may look. I will provide as much information as possible about cooking schools across the US and other created and curated resources to help you make the best possible informed decisions about your culinary school journey.
